Molotov's
About This Spot
Stepping into Molotov's on Haight Street feels like slipping into a time capsule of San Francisco’s vibrant punk and dive bar culture. The warm glow of worn wood and dim lighting welcomes you to a laid-back refuge where the pulse is steady but never rushed. Here, the soundtrack mixes epic rock anthems with quieter moments that invite a pause — an experience that feels just right for those who savor both the energy and the space to breathe.
This is a place where the crowd is as much a part of the charm as the atmosphere: a mix of longtime locals, music lovers, and those drawn by the bar’s authentic old school spirit. The bartenders move with a practiced ease, friendly without fuss, pouring drinks that fit perfectly into their world — strong, straightforward, and thoughtfully crafted. Whether you're nursing a shot with a cold beer on the side or celebrating a casual milestone with a playful Birthday Hostess Cupcake, the drinks here feel like part of an intimate ritual rather than a rushed indulgence.
Molotov's invites you to slow down and soak in the simple pleasures: the clack of pinball machines, the thrum of the jukebox dialing in classic tunes, the hum of conversations weaving through the air. It’s a spot where sports fans, punks, and metalheads find a common ground — each moment unpretentious and genuine. Dogs are welcomed, adding to the easygoing vibe that makes this bar feel more like a neighborhood living room than a commercial venue.
Whether it’s for a quick escape after work or a night spent surrounded by familiar faces and new stories, Molotov’s is a small sanctuary for those who know that the real joy in a night out is found in the human moments between sips and songs.

Really great place, perfect staff and a good price. However the silence in-between music is my personal nightmare. The rest is amazing

World class dive bar owned by a serious old school punk. Cash only. Decent prices, especially for the area. A haven for punks, metal heads, and scoundrels of all sorts. I little taste of old school SF.

Nice laid back spot to throw back some cheap drinks. A respite dive bar where the jukebox is put to good use, a spot where the clientele can be a little debaucherous but you'll always be safe here.

Amazing happy hour specials - try The Bums Choice. Friendly bartenders, great music and movies and sports on the 2 tvs. Cheers!

This place is tight… two pinball machines, one pool table and a couple tv’s for nba finals… bartender is super chill.. drinks are $6. During happy hour (3-7)… oh ya… dog friendly

One of the best jukeboxes. My pops used to go here with his friends (one lived upstairs), now I go here with friends. A family affair :)

Classic dive bar with two great pinball machines and dog water bowls.
